This solution brings awareness about waste and the problems it brings. Currently, this zero-waste technique manages 20 tonnes of waste in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad, in offices and tech parks, institutions, and residential complexes.

The Saahas Waste Foundation partners with waste generators to support and implement best practices in waste, enabling them become zero waste entities. Through Waste Audit and Consultancy programs, they help customers understand their waste and plan an end-to-end solution for all the types of waste generated. Their Smart Waste Program offers bulk waste generators, including companies and tech-parks, an on-site waste management system. A waste management centre is embedded within the campus so that the processing of wet waste and the recovery of dry waste can take place at source.

The innovation

THE INNOVATION

90% of all solid waste, generated within any kind of community - residential, business or office complex, can be converted to resources. This zero waste situation means a proactive waste management system that is efficient and makes redundant the need for large landfills and dumpsites. Additionally, Saahas also works with packaging companies and brands to create and execute a reverse logistics channel where post-consumer waste is aggregated and dispatched to recyclers, and the sale of recycled products then helps their customers close the loop.
