The technology provides a solution for plastic waste managemet and promotes waste to wealth.
The technology involves a simple process of production of plastic tiles from waste plastic bags and bottles, thus providing sustainable living for the people collecting them and also converting it into a useful product.

Shayna EcoUnified turns plastic into high performance materials in the form of tiles and structures such as toilet cabins, shelter homes and outdoor decor and land scaping purposes in both commercial and residential spaces. These materials are weather resistant, chip resistant, acid proof, durable and offer better structural stability at a lower cost as compared to conventional materials in addition to protecting the environment from plastic dumping. The tiles are made of plastic bags, bottles, bottle caps, pipes, food grade plastic like juice & milk cartons, trays and other general-purpose containers etc.
Shayna EcoUnified, being a zero waste operation company is credited with three integral certifications categorized by renowned organizations
• The first patent license holder of CSIR-NPL’s technology Recycling of plastic waste into tiles for structure designing for societal use.
• Shanya EcoUnified efforts are being recognized under Startup India initiative headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. (Recognition No. DIPP 5068)
• Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion under Ministry of Commerce and Industry has qualified Shanya EcoUnified to devise this remarkable shift in plastic waste management industry.
• Shayna was among top 400 startups out of 15,000 startup in smart 50 organized by department of science and technology of India and Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta Innovation Park.

THE INNOVATION

Plastics are durable; their toughness and inertness are what make them so useful. Unfortunately, they're so durable that they break down very slowly in a landfill. When plastics find their way into the environment -- into the ocean, for example -- they can break down more quickly, but they still take a long time to biodegrade; a plastic bottle may take a century to break down, for example, while a plastic beverage holder could take four centuries.
Making tiles from plastic takes less time for processing compared to cement tiles. Their weight is also less making them easy to handle. The plastic tiles are recyclable. For changing the shape of these tiles, one simply needs to create mold and transfer into desired shape.
