In our village, stray cattle often invade fields and destroy crops. We also find them dying due to lack of care, eating of poly bags from garbage and suffering from appetite and diseases. They also block our village roads causing difficulty for passengers. All these factors made us seeking a permanent solution to the problem.
We decided to find a suitable place in the village to keep stray animals. Villagers were handed responsibilities to feed the animals. We fixed around 50 "Gullaks" in 25 villages around us. The money collected from these centres will be used to buy fodder for the animals.
The desired outcome of this project is to shelter the cows as much as possible. People used to leave their domestic cows when they are of no use. We want them to get shelter, food and good care. We can measure the impact of our program by keeping a record of the number of cows who have been given shelter.
